Obituary for Anthony Blankenship

Anthony Blankenship, age 81 of Hurley, Virginia passed away on Wednesday,
June 27, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Born January 11, 1937 at Argo, Kentucky, he was the son of the late
Walter Blankenship and Hester Prater. He was a retired coal miner and
produced honey bees.

His wife
Loretta Scarberry Blankenship of Hurley, Virginia
Three Daughters
Anna Ray Boyd and husband Greg of Vansant, Virginia
Wilma Maloney and husband John of Lexington, Kentucky
Allison Stanley and husband Brad of Haysi, Virginia
Two Sons
Byron Blankenship and wife Debi of Swords Creek, Virginia
Anthony Jerome Blankenship of Hurley, Virginia
Seven Grandchildren
Aaron Boyd of Vansant, Virginia
Adam Blankenship and wife Jill of Abingdon, Virginia
Chaz Blankenship and wife Holly of Swords Creek, Virginia
Jessica Childress and husband Jacob of Swords Creek, Virginia
Wesley Anthony Maloney of Lexington, Kentucky
Joshua Maloney of Lexington, Kentucky
Ethan Stanley of Haysi, Virginia.
Five Great Grandchildren
Also surviving are several Half Brothers and Sisters.

Funeral services for Anthony Blankenship will be held Saturday,
June 30, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Mill Fork Freewill Baptist Church at
Phelps, Kentucky with Mike Casey, Willie Coleman, and Cecil Hurley
officiating. Burial will follow at the Blankenship Cemetery on
Swans Fork Road, Hurley, Virginia.

The family will receive friends Friday evening 6:00 P.M. at the church.
A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Virginia Funeral Home of Grundy, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
